About Ryan Calder
Dr. Ryan Calder develops quantitative models of social-environmental systems to support decision-making around renewable energy transitions and land use. Dr. Calder was trained as a civil engineer (B.Eng, M.A.Sc., P.E.), holds a doctorate in environmental health (Harvard University) and completed postdoctoral training in environmental systems engineering (Duke University).
At Virginia Tech, Dr. Calder manages the Models for Environmental Health and Policy lab, which supports work at the interface of environmental health, engineering and policy.
