Advising at Virginia Tech is a collaborative process between student and advisor, which empowers students to make informed academic and career decisions. Public Health academic advisors challenge students to actively explore opportunities, empower them to develop autonomy in making informed academic decisions, and equip them with tools and knowledge to design college experiences that fit their educational, professional, and personal goals

It is your advisor’s goal for your advising experiences to be as accessible and inclusive as possible. We invite you to share any information about yourself that you believe your advisor should know to better support you. Such information might include your lived name and pronouns, a significant life experience, or any accommodations you have or may need.

How We Support You

Advisors assist students in a number of ways and can assist students with their academic decision-making processes. Students can view their academic advisor assignment on Hokie Spa under View General Student Information and can access Navigate to schedule an appointment.  It is important to stay in contact with your advisor. In order to get the most out of this partnership, be sure to share both your successes and challenges with your assigned advisor.
