Public Health Minor
Thank you for your interest in adding a Public Health minor.
Students interested in adding a minor should complete the following step.
- Complete the Add/Drop Public Health Second Major or Minor from the Public Health Advising Forms page.
- Please allow 5-7 business days for the processing of your request.

The Public Health Minor requires students to complete 18 credit hours:

- PHS 2004 Intro to Public Health
- ADV 2134 Intro to Health Communications
(COMM and CMST have been changed to ADV) - HNFE 2664 Behavior Theroy in Health Promotion
- PHS 3634* Epi Concepts of Health and Disease
- PHS 4014** Program Planning and Evaluation
- PHS 4044 Public Health Policy and Administration
*PHS 3634 is cross-listed with HNFE 3634 course, please enroll in PHS 3634 as HNFE 3634 is restricted to HNFE majors. In addition, it is recommended students have STAT 2004 or higher completed prior to enrolling in PHS 3634.
**PHS 4014 has a prerequisite of HNFE 2664.
A minimum GPA of 2.0 in all courses taken to fulfill the minor is required. PHS minor courses are offered each semester.
Students seeking to be force-added into a course required for the minor should contact the department responsible for the course. Public Health can force add students into PHS 2004, 3634, 4014, and 4044. Students interested in being force added into ADV 2134 or HNFE 2664, should review the force add requirements for those departments.
