    Ryan C. Aday Memorial Award

    Ryan Aday was an excellent and highly motivated student who completed his degree in health promotion at Virginia Tech. In his honor, Dr. and Mrs. David Aday created the Ryan C. Aday Memorial Award. Each spring, the Department of Population Health Sciences selects two graduating MPH students from each concentration who have demonstrated excellence in academics and public health service as award recipients.

    Outstanding Bachelor of Science in Public Health Senior Award

    Each year, the Department of Population Health Sciences honors one outstanding senior from the Bachelor of Science in Public Health Program. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding undergraduate student achievement in the Public Health Program in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine.

    Bachelor of Science in Public Health Ut Prosim Service Award

    The Public Health Ut Prosim Service Award draws its name from Virginia Tech’s motto: That I May Serve. The Public Health Ut Prosim Service award is presented to a Bachelor of Science in Public Health graduating senior(s) who epitomize the values inherent in that motto through service to the major, department, college, university and/or community.

    This honor is presented each year to Bachelor of Science in Public Health graduating seniors who best demonstrate the traits of leadership and professionalism in service to the program, department, college, university and/or community.

    MPH students recognized by the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice for assisting long-term care facilities with testing and other key COVID-19 response activities , redirect

    Master of Public Health (MPH) and Virginia Medical Reserve Corps-trained students, Jaclyn Abramson, Theresa Markwalter, Hannah Reed, and Sarah Work (now an alumna) along with dual Doctor of Veterinary Medicine/MPH student Ella Rak, were recognized as Students Who Rocked Public Health in 2020 by the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice for their work assisting long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing testing and other key response services.
