Admissions Requirements

VT encourages holistic admission practices that values qualities such as leadership, ethics, accomplishments, and socioeconomic background, in addition to academic achievements and test scores.

For graduate programs

GRE is not required but can be submitted to support your application.

GPA- a minimum 3.0 or equivalant (4.0 scale) is required by the VT Graduate School based on last 60 undergraduate credits completed. Acceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis. 

TOEFL- required for international students whose primary language of study in undergraduate was not completed in English. Minimum score: 90 overall.

Course Requirements- for the MPH program, there are no course requirements as our students enter the program from a diverse range of disciplines. having a foundational understanding of biology, statistics, government, and ... is beneficial. 

For the application, students will submit:

• Three letters of recommendation
• Personal statement
• Resume or CV
