Dr. Redican is active in community-based research with a specific emphasis on youth risk behaviors (YRBS).  He has implemented the CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey in multiple settings in Virginia and has worked with partners, specifically Dr. David Sallee at Radford University in establishing YRBS trend data which is serving as a foundation for procuring funding for research targeting specific risk behaviors. 

Dr. Redican has also worked with multiple community health agencies in research and evaluation ranging from prescription drug abuse in Southwest, Virginia to evaluating interventions designed to decrease drinking and driving.
